For several years members and friends of the Hollywood Women’s Club have been working to restore our clubhouse; a National Historic Site and a Hollywood Landmark built in 1927.
Meetings and events are held regularly in our charming clubhouse as some restoration work has already been completed. However, there is still a long, long, way to go.
In brief, the house must be raised up, pilings put down and a new foundation constructed. Also required is a new roof, electrical and plumbing upgrades, along with esthetic improvements inside and out. There are so few historical buildings remaining in our city, we will not allow our beloved clubhouse to become a “lost landmark”! Failure is not an option! We will restore!
Estimated cost of restoration:
$125,000 to $150,000
The good news: A local resident, who prefers to remain anonymous, has pledged $20,000 in matching funds for every dollar we raise this year.
That means that every $1 you donate becomes $2 like magic thus bringing us closer to our goal.
We can do this! Here’s how you can help:
1.) Donate: You can make a donation via PayPal, or make checks payable to: Hollywood
Women’s Club & mail to 501 N. 14 Avenue, 33020. Your generosity will be greatly
appreciated. No amount is too small. Any dollar you can spare, doubles into two!
2.) Shop on line: Go to WWW.ShopToEarn.net/HWC. Thousands of well known stores,
offer discounted prices online and a percentage of every sale goes directly to the

3.) Join our club: Ladies come to a meeting as a guest. The Day Group meets on the first
Thursday of every month, the Evening Group meets the second Wednesday. Learn about our
activities; charitable efforts, community support, educational offerings, socializing,
networking and just plain fun. Dues are only $40.00 per year and you get to participate as a
volunteer in club functions. Voice your fundraising ideas and help make them happen.
4.) Rent our clubhouse: Charming interior with Dade County Pine hard wood floors, a grand
piano and all the amenities you need for your event or party. Our rental rates are most
reasonable. We rent only to gentle people who understand and appreciate this precious
historical environment. A perfect venue for bridal showers, birthday parties, weddings etc.
5.) Support our events:
